I feel angry...

We have so many bright minds in this country, so why can't we all get together and put politics aside and come up with technologies that could prevent these monster storms from happening and that can cause so much damages and chaos just within a few days notice? We can spend billions on nuclear weapons so we can destroy our Earth a 100 times over but yet why not use that money for something more meaningful?
